Book Review: Bossypants

I recently read Tina Fey’s book Bossy Pants. The first whole book I have finished since having my second child in 2010. I feel amazing and accomplished and yes I want to brag about it! Even better is that I finished it in 24 hours. I would tell you this is because I’m awesome at time management and my house practically runs itself, but that would be a bold faced LIE! The book was charming, truthful, funny and as a result my house is a wreck and my kids have been living off snack food.

Anyone who has considered reading this book I definitely recommend it. I was a Tina Fey fan before I started reading and an even bigger fan now. Although I don’t agree with all of her opinions I think she’s come along way and she’s a great female role model, also she’s funny as hell!  Her book touches on points in her life from her early childhood to raising her own daughter and I found her honesty refreshing.  A major theme throughout the book is coming to terms with her physical appearance and that is an issue that really hits home for me and I’m sure most women, but that is a whole ‘nother blog entry.  Basically if you are female some part of this book will speak to you, however I will add that if you are extremely conservative this may not be the book for you, but you should read it anyway.
